Please join PPG members for an artist talk with Joe Lupo prior to the opening reception of “This Doesn’t Make Any Sense. . .”

This exhibition presents Lupo’s most recent series of screen prints, using appropriated imagery from his personal inventory of public domain comic books, specifically focusing on characters expressing exacerbation and confusion. Eventually, the imagery evolved into a self-reflection of the disbelief, paralysis, and overwhelming feelings of being complicit when confronted with the continuous flow of news detailing racial justice, climate change, social inequity, gun violence, war crimes…

Joseph Lupo is currently Associate Director, Coordinator of Graduate Studies, and Professor of Art at West Virginia University.
